OTHER INFORMATION: A relatively new variety that is early to ripen with good acidity that creates wine darker than typical reds. Originally grown as a blending wine to improve the color of pale reds, but is best used on its own to produce a dry red, sweet red or sweet rose. One parent vine is the hybrid cross of Trollinger and Früburgunder and also the cross of Blau Portuguiser and Lemberger.
