OTHER INFORMATION: The dry Dolcetto grape has aroma flavors of black cherry, almond and liquorice. Wine is typically consumed in two or three years of bottling. Growing best on white soils, the juice is usually made into fruity dark red wine with low acidity, and shortly fermented tannins. DNA tests by UC Davis in California show this variety is not identical to Douce Noire (Savoie) or Charbono (California) varieties.
