OTHER INFORMATION: One of many grapes to make the French Bordeaux region blended red wines. The original parents of this cold-hardy variety were Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Franc. Need to bottle for 5-10 years to reach the best flavor. Somewhat resistant to cracking and bunch rots. In the warmer areas of California, grapes made into one variety will usually produce higher levels of alcohol due to high sugar and lower acidity levels.
